FAQ
Q. Who is Nth Degree rings?
A. I am a ringmaker and Taekwondo practitioner - naturally, I found a way to combine the two! My primary business is wedgewoodrings.com, where I create custom rings of many materials and designs. Please check that out!
Q. Why would I want to wear my belt on my finger?
A. A black belt is more than a medal, certificate, or trophy. At its most basic level, it is a symbol of what you have learned (more importantly, what you have yet to learn). It is also symbol of dedication to lifelong learning, refinement, and mastery. Every martial art demands more than expertise in forms and combat. All black belts are expected to abide by a code. In Taekwondo, these include the tenets: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. This is an ethos that the practitioner takes with them everywhere they go. I want to provide a way to bring this symbol with you when you leave your school.
Q. what materials are used to create these rings?
A. The base ring material is Black Zirconium. The zirconium is heat treated until the extreme heat causes oxidization, forming a very hard, durable black coating. This coating has a hardness rating of 1940MPa - the same as sapphire. Each inlaid bar is 14 karat gold.
Q. How do I find my size?
A. I offer rings sizes from 4-15 in quarter size increments, meaning that I can make, for example, a size 7.25. My rings are comfort fit. This does have an impact on your ring size so be absolutely sure that you were sized in a comfort fit band by a jeweler.
Comfort fit rings are the most common band type and have a slightly domed interior to provide a more comfortable fit. It is preferred amongst those with large knuckles as the domed interior makes it easier for them to slip the unique wedding ring on. To determine the size of the comfort fit band, the exact middle of the ring is used.
Note on size: When you get sized, keep a couple things in mind-- your fingers are slightly swollen in the morning (don’t ask me why), your fingers are larger during warm weather, your fingers are larger after a meal (especially salty meals). This means that if you have your finger measured on a chilly evening before dinner, the result will be on the low end of your actual size.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE 100% SURE OF YOUR SIZE BEFORE ORDERING! Zirconium rings CANNOT BE RESIZED AT ALL! Every ring is custom made to the exact size provided. An error in sizing that exceeds the margin provided above will necessitate a completely new ring. A restocking fee of 20% will be applied to exchanges.
Q. Can i buy a ring as a gift?
A. Certainly! A gift card is an upcoming feature. In the meantime, you can purchase any listing and indicate in the “size” section that the recipient will be contacting me with size information. I will then put the order on hold until I receive that information.
Q. Can i add an engraving?
A. “Pilsung!” and “Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit” are popular choices. You will have to purchase the separate engraving listing and add it into your cart along with the ring.
Q. What happens when i am promoted?
A. Unfortunately, these rings cannot be modified to add an additional gold stripe. Previous customers are, however, eligible for a 25% discount on a new ring for their new rank.
